1. Introduction Welcome to ScribeTrac, developed by Tracorder. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data remains secure. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and protect your information when you use the ScribeTrac mobile application.
2. Core Privacy Principle: Local Storage First ScribeTrac is built with a privacy-first architecture. Your audio recordings and generated text transcripts are stored locally on your device. We do not permanently store your audio files or transcripts on our cloud servers.
To provide our core service, when you request a transcription or use the “Ask AI” feature, your audio file or text snippet is transmitted securely to our backend and third-party AI providers strictly for real-time processing. Once the AI processing is complete and the result is returned to your device, the file is discarded from our processing servers.
3. Information We Collect
Account Information: If you choose to link an account (via Email, Google, or Apple), we collect basic profile information (such as your email address and an anonymized user ID) to secure your minute balance and account state.
Usage Data & Diagnostics: We collect anonymous crash reports and basic performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics) to fix bugs and improve app stability. This data is not linked to your personal identity or audio files.
Billing Information: In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple and Google (via RevenueCat). We do not collect, process, or store your credit card or financial information.
4. Third-Party Service Providers We utilize trusted third-party services to operate the app. These providers are strictly bound by data processing agreements:
Firebase (Google): For secure user authentication and crash reporting.
RevenueCat: To validate and securely sync your in-app purchase minute balance.
AI Processing Partners (e.g., Groq): To convert your audio into text and power the AI assistant. Audio and text are processed ephemerally and are not used by these providers to train public AI models.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Local Data: You can delete any audio file or transcript permanently from your device at any time using the app’s History screen. Deleting the app from your phone will also wipe all locally stored files.
Account Deletion: You may delete your ScribeTrac account at any time via the Settings menu. Doing so will permanently wipe your cloud identity and forfeit any remaining transcription minutes.
