Terms of Use for ScribeTrac

1. Acceptance of Terms By downloading, accessing, or using the ScribeTrac mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service ScribeTrac provides AI-powered audio transcription and analysis tools. While we strive for the highest accuracy, AI technology is not infallible. We do not guarantee that transcripts will be 100% accurate, complete, or error-free. The service is provided “as is,” and you are responsible for reviewing transcripts for accuracy.

3. User Responsibilities and Legal Compliance You are solely responsible for the audio content you record or import into ScribeTrac. By using the App, you agree that:

  • You have obtained all necessary consents, permissions, or legal rights required to record all parties in the audio file, in compliance with your local, state, and national wiretapping and recording laws.

  • You will not upload or transcribe illegal, highly sensitive, or non-consensual material. Tracorder disclaims all liability regarding your compliance with recording laws in your jurisdiction.

4. Accounts, Credits, and Purchases

  • Pay-As-You-Go Minutes: ScribeTrac operates on a prepaid minute system. Transcription minutes purchased via the App Store or Google Play are tied to your account.

  • Guest Accounts: If you use ScribeTrac as a “Guest” without linking an email, Google, or Apple account, your minute balance is tied to your specific physical device. If you delete the app, lose your device, or reset your phone before linking an account, your remaining minutes will be permanently lost and cannot be restored or refunded.

  • Refunds: All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Any refund requests must be directed to the respective app store’s customer support according to their policies.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights to the audio recordings you make and the transcripts generated from them.

  • Our App: Tracorder retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the ScribeTrac app, its original code, design, and branding.

6. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tracorder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of your use or inability to use ScribeTrac. Because the app utilizes local storage, Tracorder is not responsible for the loss or deletion of transcripts or audio files from your device.
